JOHN WALSH – Managing Director

John Walsh Founded SCS in 1978, Performance Springs UK in 1994 and Shannon MicroCoil in 2005, all three companies have been highly successful and benefitted under the financial and strategic management & planning of John Walsh who has over 40 years experience in the spring industry.

John is a member of the Marketing Institute of Ireland, held the position of President of Limerick Chamber of Commerce in 2005/06, John is also a past Director of ISME and is currently still very involved. John is a Director of Limerick City Enterprise Board and is also a Director of Limerick City Development Board. As a member of the Irish Medical Devices Assoc., John attends many seminars and events to keep him up to date on all the latest developments in the Medical Devices Industry.

SHIRLEY WALSH – Operations Director

Shirley has over twenty years experience working in the spring industry. Shirley has completed a scholarship awarded by The Spring Research Assoc. in the UK which covered all areas of material selection and spring design, manufacturing techniques including surface engineering, accurate spring measurement and inspection and quality control, compression, extension and torsion spring design plus failure and prevention. Shirley has attained a Diploma in Quality Management and SPC techniques from the University of Limerick, Shirley is a qualified and certified Quality Assurance Auditor certified by the Irish Quality Assoc. Shirley has completed a Financial Management Development Programme awarded by Grant Thornton and Enterprise Ireland. Shirley holds a Green Belt in Lean Practices and Six Sigma. Shirley is a member of the Irish Medical Devices Assoc. and attend seminars regularly to keep her up to date on research and innovation in our market sector.

EAMONN BARRETT – Sales & Marketing Director

A graduate of the University of Limerick, with 30 years experience as Sales & Marketing Director of Shannon Coiled Springs and later Shannon MicroCoil. Eamonn is unrivalled in his knowledge of springs and wire forms and is often called upon by our customers as the first port of call before even putting pen to paper in the design and concept of creating a spring or wire form. Eamonn has achieved the prestigious green belt in Lean Practices and Six Sigma and is an active member of the Irish Medical Device Assoc. and the Marketing Institute of Ireland.
